Street Food in Korea: Ggultarae ( Dragon beard snack)
Finally took video of the entertaining process to make Ggultarae (꿀타래). There are several places you can watch this traditional, royal snack being made in Seoul. This is in Insadong. It is fermented, 2 week old honey and malt, stretched by hand over and over in corn starch to create 16, 000 strands of hairlike strings. Then it is rolled up with some type of nuts or sweet things inside. This snack was once only eaten by the royal family, but has since become an easily available snack for anyone.
