Visit to Vilanova 11 03 2018, the coastal town where was born the first President of Catalonia

Yesterday 11, 03, 2018 I was in Vilanova a pinturesque coastal town. The best fish in Catalonia is coming from there. This is the place where Franscesc Macia the first President of the Generaliat (Catalan autonomous government) was born. He was a colonel of the Spanish army and is considered the founder of modern Catalan independentism. He proclaimed the independence of Catalonia in 1931 but the Catalan republic it lasted only one day. There is a huge statue devoted to Francesc Macia in Vilafranca. Also there is a monument dedicated to Europe (Jupiter or Zeus and Europe). It was very windy in all the Catalan coast because a sort of huge storm called Felix.
