RR1234Tube Soft Machine Émission Tous en scène (ORTF) diffusée le 25 juillet 1969 Gazely Gaze Robert Wyatt, Hugh Hopper and Mike Ratledge Soft Machine were one of the most influential 60 s underground bands. The song is from their second album Volume Two in 1969, as the final section of Esther s Nose Job. Live on Tous en scène, France, on 25 July 1969. (Previously mistitled as So Boot If at All by French TV and here; thanks to Marc Time in the comments for pointing out the correct title ) Robert Wyatt went on to be a successful solo artist, after an accident in the 70 s restricted him to a wheelchair. Mike Ratledge was the longestserving original member, taking the band into a jazzrock direction. Hugh Hopper later played with numerous musicians such as Carla Bley and Keith Tippett and released many solo albums. He died in 2009.
