Clairvoyant Fishing (1956)
Palace Pier, Brighton, East Sussex. Long frontal shot of a Palace Pier in Brighton (an entrance). Camera pans to line of people fishing. C, U shot of a statue of Indian deity (not sure which). C, U shot of a crystal ball. Camera tilts up to reveal the face of a woman with a scarf around her head. Cut to C, U shot of another woman s head as she nods her head approvingly. C, U high angle shot of a hand and a magnifying glass palm reading M, S of the two women sitting at the opposite sides of a small round table. Older is a clairvoyant (Madam Binnie or Binney) and younger is a client. Younger woman leaves and clairvoyant gets up and disappears behind a curtain. She sits at small desk and empties plastic bag full of letters her mail. Then she opens a square hole in a floor (one can see water underneath) and gets ready to do a little fishing.
