Large scale societal dynamics are reflected in human mood and brain (2020 11 02)
A video presentation of main results from Lebedev et al. (2022) paper Largescale societal dynamics are reflected in human mood and brain The study builds on the socionomic hypothesis of social mood initially introduced by an American economist Robert Prechter and further developed by a mathematician John Casti Employing stateoftheart methods of big data analytics, we show that citizens mood, wellbeing and related behavioural patterns (such as alcohol intake), as well as the anatomical characteristics of their brains exhibit close relationship with socioeconomic characteristics of a country, as indexed by capital market evolution, unemployment rates and housing prices.
