Vivienne Westwood is one of the most important designers of the 20th century. Her work spanned decades and constantly adapted and changed to present itself as an arbiter of the zeitgeist no matter where it was. But her early work is really rather important not only in terms of fashion but also in terms of general Western culture. While much of Vivienne s early work is boiled down to being the founder of punk. Her work had a much deeper and more esteemed technicality and refinement to it than many give her credit for. And so this video is my attempt to bring a bit more of a well rounded view of Vivienne s work from the beginning of the 1970s to the end of the 1980s to teach both you all but also myself a bit more about the legend Dame Viv.
