Marina is a 1959 Italian song by ItalianBelgian singersongwriter Rocco Granata, his first international hit and best known song. Originally released in 1959 as the Bside of Manuela, the Bside became more played than the Aside, and by 30 January Marina interrupted Oh Carol by Neil Sedaka for one week at the No. 1 spot of Hitkrant s List of European numberone hits of 1960. The song sold millions of copies. Even Dean Martin and Louis Armstrong recorded an english version of this song. In Eastern Europe in the Cold War times this song brought happyness to the yougsters from both sides of the barricade. The LUCKY DUCKIES did their own version a few years ago and recorded again in this Lisbon concert.
