Wimbledon day 12: Barty claims Womens singles title with win over Plisková

The 25yearold Ashleigh Barty won her second grand slam title in a desperately tense three set contest between two world number ones. It was both she and Karolina Plisková s first Wimbledon final. Barty recovered after failing to serve out the match in the second set to beat Plisková 63, 67 (4), 63 and become the first Australian woman, and Indigenous Australian woman, to win Wimbledon since Goolagong Cawley in 1980.
