Going Down
I discovered the Stone Roses via their record sleeves. I was an Art student that year and while record shopping in 1989 I saw a cool 7 with what appeared to be a Jackson Pollock splatter painting on the front, it was the Made of stone single. I liked it, was a Smiths fan and at first listen it sounded pretty good, quite Smithsy. I turned it over and played the B side, which I liked a lot more, it was more Byrdsy, somehow warmer, and I became convinced there was something a bit special about this band after hearing the line She looks like a painting Jackson Pollocks number five. Both songs turned out to be massive growers, I remember playing them repeatedly to everyone who came round. Then I got the album and saw them live a couple of times, the rest is history. Here s my version of Going Down requested by autobahn73 nuttall1987 loseyuy and Master Dreaming. Hope you enjoy it, lockdownjukebox
