PPS43 The PPS (Russian: ППС Пистолетпулемёт Судаева or Pistoletpulemyot Sudayeva, in English: Sudayev s submachinegun ) is a family of Soviet submachine guns chambered in 7. 6225mm Tokarev, developed by Alexei Sudayev as a lowcost personal defense weapon for reconnaissance units, vehicle crews and support service personnel. Operating mechanism The PPS is an automatic blowbackoperated weapon that fires from an open bolt. The bolt is cylindrical in shape and contains a springloaded claw extractor, which pulls the empty case out of the chamber to be ejected. The ejector is mounted at the head of the recoil spring guide rod, which runs through a hole in the bolt.
