It has been produced on stage in many different countries since 1985 when it was first produced in English. In 2012 a film was created and won many awards including an academy award for best makeup and hair If you are unsure what lovely ladies mean, there is basically a scene within Les Miserables showing you the ladies of the night and they sing about their life while trying to convince Fantine to join them.
