Intertitle reads: From Work To Pleasure. The man takes her to an expensive restaurant and introduces her to his friends. They drink champagne. They kiss and cuddle at the table. Intertitle reads: Abandoned He tires of her because she wants him to stay at home and he abandons her. Intertitle reads: Dying of Hunger. She ends up begging for food. Then she collapses with hunger. She is found by an old acquaintance of her previous love. Intertitle reads: Terrible Expiation. The woman s new man friend treats her cruelly. He tries to force her into prostitution. She can t do it and he throws her off a bridge into a river. The man is chased away by the police and the woman is rescued from the icy waters. She looks fairly lifeless despite the rescue.
