Man rides a horse down the street. Pedestrians, cars, buildings, various street scenes are shown. Fishing is stated as the main industry but Pathe features an itinerant photographer. C, U of photographer at his work, taking a portrait of two children in the open air. Essentially volcanic, Iceland possesses natural boiling water and the housewives use it to the L, S of a small trough of water covered with a curved steel canopy. C, U of the water. This is where women come to do their washing. M, S of the women washing clothes by putting them into the water with sticks, then using the steel bars as a grip to wring out their clothes.
