Fagradalsfjall Volcano on May 28
Those footages are from the last trip to the eruption site on May 28. Filmed at 00:30 am. We just returned from the 17th expedition. It had been extremely windy evening. But as always it was worth it. Tons of fascinating material which I am going to share next days. The reason why the Western Wall has not been breached yet is change of lava flows. For the past 2 days lava had been flowing into Geldingadalur (via underground tunnels) and into Meradalir (by the ridge mound river). The lava river ridge or mound had became too big with very high banks, so the lava is currently rebalancing the bath tab by refilling up Geldingadalur where the surface had been more shallow comparing to the newly formed lava ridges and mounds to the west. , Iceland2021, Fagradalsfjall, Geldingadalur
