Chinese Bird and Flower Painting Blue Flycatchers

For this evening I thought something blue. I have painted these Birds some time back last year but they make very good practice and I enjoy the way the blue contrasts with the orange on the leaves and flowers. For me, the shape of the bird and the slow progression to using less paint is a pleasant and difficult one. The paper is from a good friend of mine, Sibylla, and she lives in Shanghai and got me this paper and a huge bundle of the most wonderful textured flower leaf and bark paper with woodchip bits
