Thank you for taking the time to listen I ve made only two modifications to this new 2024 true stereo remix of the official 2017 remix of one of my (and many others ) favorite Beatles songs, Penny Lane. The 2017 official remix was stunning, but I was a bit disappointed that a couple of things I was hoping for were not included. Paul s lead vocal remained doubletracked, and the baroque trumpet ending from the promo release was omitted. In my remix, to give Paul McCartney s wonderful lead vocal a more natural sound, I have eliminated the doubletracking on the verses. Doubletracking vocals in the 1960s was very common, but by the late 60s, this practice began to diminish. I ve never been a fan of doubletracking; to me, it adds harshness and detracts from the natural sound of the voice. I understand that many prefer the
