Vingt ans après, les survivants des attentats du World Trade Center restent profondément marqués par ce qu ils ont vécu. Coup de projecteur sur ces oubliés de la tragédie qui se sont battus pour éviter de sombrer complètement. Pompier le 11 septembre 2001, Richard Roeill n a pas compté ses heures lorsqu il a participé aux opérations de sauvetages et de déblaiements. Mais les poussières toxiques qu il a ingurgitées ce jourlà et les suivants ont eu raison de sa santé. Son espérance de vie ne dépasse pas trois ans d après ses médecins. Il se rend deux fois par semaine en consultation afin de faire nettoyer son sang des métaux lourds qui handicapent son quotidien. Mais l aide financière qu il a reçue et sa mutuelle santé ne lui permettent pas de couvrir toutes les dépenses. Vingt ans après, Scott Bartels souffre toujours de syndromes posttraumatiques.
