Azure winged magpies cooperate to get food
Researchers investigated prosociality in the cooperatively breeding corvid Cyanopica cyana (Azurewinged magpie) and discovered that the birds operated the apparatus to deliver food to their group members at high rates. Thus, authors conclude, Azurewinged magpies are the first birds that experimentally show proactive prosociality.
