Putting Back The Calendar (1928)
Paper records and leader state that this film features a Gordon Bennett Road Race of 1903 presumably in France. Begins with shot of two racing cars speeding around a track. The title looks more modern (Late 1920s or early 1930s ) so is probably a reissue. The location looks like Brooklands. Various shots of the race, then another race with much older cars early 1900s. This is presumably the Gordon Bennett race. Various shots of cars speeding round a corner at a racetrack or at a road race. The winning car slows to a stop and the codriver takes something from the back of the car and throws it on the road, he then fills the petrol tank from a can ( ) L, S of car approaching down a dusty road. Another car zooms past the camera. M, S of crowd watching the race as a car passes under a bridge. The bridge has a spectator s stand built on top of it. L, S of two cars speeding down the dusty road then reverse shot of them going under the bridge. Note: Leader states UN6G so this is probably a
