Victorias Riflebird Bird of Paradise Dance

The Victoria s Riflebird (Ptiloris victoriae) is a bird of paradise endemic to North Queensland, Australia. Here a young adult male is practising his dance moves at Crater Lakes Rainforest Cottages. You can clearly hear the swoosh of his wings as he moves them from side to side. He is hoping to attract a female. About 20 seconds into the video he hears a bird nearby and gets a bit excited, but it is just a grey headed robin. At the end of the video a dominate male calls in the distant, and the young male flies off.
