I thought that I had witnessed and recorded a rare event, but it turned out to be rather commonplace. Equipment: Microscope, 1: Nikon Labophot microscope with a Nikon Phase Contrast condenser. Objectives include Nikon phase contrast objectives (10X and CFN Plan 20X); a Zeiss Neofluar 40X Ph2 (works with the Ph3 stop on the Nikon condenser); and a Zeiss Neofluar 100X Ph3 oil (works with the Ph4 stop on the Nikon condenser). I also have a Leitz 50X oil immersion, a Nikon E plan 10X and a Nikon E plan 20X. If you see darkfield at 40X, Im using the Omax 40X objective.
