This day s lesson is more of stopping and standing quietly and allowing adjustments of the harness. The trainer does a lot of this as it is important for Earnest to trust and obey as this is very new to the horse. The trainer lets the traces drag and even hitches them up to a wooden bar for Earnest to drag. When you know that it is a horse s instinct to run away and take a look at whatever is scaring or chasing them, it is quite an achievement today.
