Profit versus Non Profit Should you start a for profit or non profit company

I went to a Start Up Incubator. They told me they help me but it has to be for profit company. What if your not sure if you want a non profit company because some of the proceeds would go to Nursing Home or the artist. I am not an artist but I want to help people and this would be my way to give back. I just don t know if this venture would generate the ROI to justify the cost What are you thoughts Greg
