Frederick Converse ( Piano Sonata No. 1)
This piano sonata was composed near the end of Converse s life (1937). While fully in the Romantic idiom, it includes some of the composer s experiments in harmony during his latter period, including regular movement in key signatures. It s a delightful work that should receive more performances and recordings Performed by Mary Louise Boehm Here s a link to the recording from Albany Records: Paintings by Theodore Robinson (18521896)
