Diving into the lore behind the mysterious beings known as Guild Navigators, how they make it possible for FTL space travel to be safe. I talk about their stages and the evolution they must undergo in order to advance to the highest ranks of the Spacing Guild. I also discuss the appearance of the Guild Navigator (Edric) in David Lynch s Dune (1984) the Dune miniseries and the Children of Dune miniseries and how these designs differ and even possibly influenced Frank Herbert in his later work.
