Contortion Manou on Disney Club 1993

In 1993, Manou (Emmanuelle Peyre) was signed on to Cirque Baroque after an impressive performance at the Cirque du Demain Festival at their sixteenth year running (more on that in previous Manou videos, links below). Her duo act with an acrobat and capoeira artist known as Tika went into costuming and choreography revisions at this time, and it s at this point where we find an incredible duo appearance on the French version of the Disney Club show. Clip One The doll act is virtually unmodified from the Cirque du Demain appearance, with one notable change. The orientalstyle music has been replaced with the more enigmatic avantgarde soundtrack used popularly through the Cirque Baroque shows that would follow. Clip Two Manou was invited back onto the show as a solo performer later that year, and performed her candle contortion act, an act which remained a part of her repertoire until the early 2000s.
