Ukraine: Folk Music and Dancing in Kyiv on New Years 2005

here is a bit of footage of people dancing to folk music from the new year s eve, day celebrations in kyiv in 2005. the first minute actually is footage of people dancing not to folk music but to some folkpop, and their dancing isn t traditional. however, the last few minutes provide some fabulous footage of mostly middle to senioraged people singing along with and, or doing real folk dancing to musicians playing on the street. where are all the young people do they no longer want to remember
