This bite size frightful history videos looks at the brutal execution of the Lord Chancellor; Sir Thomas More. Thomas was executed for treason when he refused to acknowledge Henry VIII as Head of the Church of England. Thomas was a devout Catholic and did not agree with Henry divorcing Catherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn. He resigned from his post as Chancellor and even failed to attend Anne s coronation. Thomas was executed at Tower Hill in July 1535 and his head was placed on a spike, until his daughter retrieved it.
