Hare Krishna is a stunning short film showing Height Ashbury and the Hippies and their activities in Golden Gate Park during April of 1967. At this time there were massive antiwar demonstrations going on protesting the very unpopular Vietnam War. However there was something else very significant going on in San Francisco. Srila Prabhupada, the FounderAcharya of ISKCON (The International Society for Krishna Consciousness) came on his first visit after some of his disciples created a small temple there. This combination of the Hippies seeking peace and love and Srila Prabhupada providing easy access to a spiritual path to peace, love and happiness was quite explosive.
