Here s a bit of background info: It was past midnight on February 22, 2023 when I received a seemingly random latenight call from Jacob. He told me he had just landed in Dallas. The let s do something discussion immediately followed, and before I knew it, we were planning to do a masterclass, workshop at my school, UNT With Jacob s incredible spontaneity, and with the logistical sorcery performed by UNT s wonderful administrative staff and faculty, we were able to host a musical workshop on February on a day s notice. After an hour of Q A and musical discussions, Jacob closed the session with his song The Sun is in Your Eyes this time, on the piano. I had the privilege to watch it unfold before my eyes.
