Valerie Horton Brown: Walk With Me ( Full Album) 1981
Not a lot is known about Valerie HortonBrown. She comes from Erie, Pennsylvania, moved to Germany to try her luck, and landed a solo deal with Ariola. The album was produced by Jack White and featured the cream of LA session musicians: Ed Greene and James Gadson on drums, Paul Jackson on guitar, Paulinho da Costa on percussion, and Julia Maxime Waters and Stephanie Spruill on backing vocals. However, the album and its two singles Hands Off and Something s Burning sank into oblivion. The LP now fetches high prices on Ebay and Discogs. It is a really solid album with some wonderful tunes, a crying shame that nothing happened with it. I have expanded the album with the single edit of Hands Off plus its Bside Dreamer (later recorded by Audrey Launders) and a contemporary single by Ben Vereen, also produced by Jack White. Jack White went on to pursue great success, producing Laura Branigan and David Hasselhoff a. o.
