The New Year s tradition of quaaltagh is very similar to first foot in Scotland and the north of England. In the Isle of Man it is associated with a beautiful set of lyrics recited around people s houses at the start of a new year. It is believed that this was once sung, but the tune has now been lost, so this group of young people at the Bree Weekend created a new tune to sing it by, with the assistance of Clare Kilgallon RV and Greg Joughin.
