Free tickets were distributed to local high school students. The acronym was used inconsistently in the show s publicity to mean both Teenage Awards Music International and Teen Age Music International. The Supremes were an American female singing group and a premier act of Motown Records during the 1960s. Founded as The Primettes in Detroit, Michigan, in 1960. Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown, the original group, are all from the BrewsterDouglass public housing project in Detroit.
