Machining Boring BIG Steel Tubes, Large Lathe Work
This video is a job from our machining workshop to machine and bore the ends of 3 large steel tubes for a welding rotator drive plate. The steel tubes are approximately 3 metres (10 feet) long and 325mm (13 inches) in diameter so we need to set them up in our 5 metre LZMT lathe machine. We first set up the tubes using our Tailstock chock and machine a band for the steady rest. Once the steady rest is setup we then remove material from the ID of tube end to suit the drive plate. We are using our Monkula Antivibration boring bar and will also be machining and facing down the tube ends to customers spec. In this video we are using: LZMT CW6280D Lathe Monkula M6D5040040 Antivibration bar Join our channel: We upload new videos every Friday at 5pm AEST If you want to see more of our videos click LIKE SUBSCRIBE You can subscribe to our channel here:
