Monoprinting from sketches: Stonehenge oil paint on paper
, monoprinting, oilpaint, dantirels oil paint on paper 200gsm 20 x 12 The Ring of Brodgar, Orkney, Scotland, UK Trying to capture the mystery of this Scottish landscape, which I visited many years ago. Very inspiring place and well worth a visit if you can get there. This is one of a series of works exploring this landscape and the huge monolithic stones found here. I wanted to show with this particular demo the importance of sketching out a rough version first, it helps to use as a guide for the light and dark tones of the composition and the placement of elements that bring the work together, helping to get the perspective correct and details of focal points. Based on my own photographs and sketches of The Ring of Brodgar. The paint I m using is a mix of Prussian Blue and Vandyke Brown. I draw out the composition first with a pencil to use as a guide but for the demo I use a black felt tip pen to make the lines more visible to the camera. The Ri br, br,
