Rose Painting: Beyond the Reference Photo

A live session painting a rose from a reference photo. In this third session on this rose, I ll be showing how I move beyond a straight copying of the reference photo to attempt tp bring some expression and poetry into the painting. After rubbing, sanding and scraping back the initial colour blockin, I ll oil out the painting and then begin to work back into it. It s a bit like jumping off a cliff :)
