Embroidered Hobbit Capelet from a FREE Pattern + Fancy Seam Finishes, CAPEtember
I used a FREE Mood Pattern to make this cape, and then pimped it out with hours and hours of hand embroidery and some aesthetic leather oak leaf clasps. To finish it all off, the interior is nearly as gorgeous as the outside of this hobbitgoescottagecore style cape, because I tried a new technique, a flatlining and Hong Kong finish allinone This project was made as part of the 2022 edition of CAPEtember, wherein makers of all sorts are invited to join along with me (and JillianEve ) to create a cape, cloak, or shawl in any range of fiber arts, from knitting to sewing to weaving. I was originally leaning towards a more historical capelet, perhaps an Inverness style double cape, but in the end, my inner hobbit won out, and I took the free Winterberry cape pattern by Mood Fabrics, and shortened it even more to fit my fabric yardage, then added some very autumnthemed cottagecore style embroidery designs for a fun pop of color Hopefully it s just the sort of thing that would ma br, br,
