Alfie is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David to promote the 1966 film Alfie. Dionne Warwick; born as Marie Dionne Warrick on December 12, 1940) is an African American singer, actress and TVshow host. Warwick belongs to the 40 biggest hit makers of the entire rock era. Dionne grew up in a very musical family in New Jersey. She started a singing group together with her aunt and her sister named: The Gospelaires. When The Gospelaires collaborated on a song by the Drifters, the songwriter of the song: Burt Bacharach came to listen. He discover Dionne and invited her to sing some demos. Her first single: Dont make me over was released in 1962 but they had misspelled her name (Warwick instead of Warrick). Ever since she decided to keep this name.
