Sidelights in Cinema History. Introductory intertitle announces: Produced with the assistance of the Wilfred Day historical collection of machines and Unfortunately most of the material has been cut (presumably to be used in other films possibly The Lumiere film The Baby was shown (now missing) and film of a London Bridge in 1896 (also missing). An intertitle reads: an add colour to their machinelike movements so presumably a colour section was inserted here. Intertitles discuss the standardisation of film formats. A Cavalry exercise film, the falling wall film and Jones Matagraph are all mentioned but shots are missing. Intertitle states that now the motion picture camera goes We then see footage taken from the back of a seaplane, an aerial shot of a lighthouse on an outcrop of rock, and a funny shot where the camera is half underwater and half above it showing people diving into a swimming pool.
