Thyra Triakel live in concert

Triakels music are words and melodies used throughout the ages to describe feelings and happenings. Powerful stories about the implacable face of nature, and lives filled with accidents, murder, happiness and passion. Swedish folk songs as full of joy and sorrow as life itself. In this online concert they perform outdoors on the St. Olavsleden trail. The name of the concert Thyra comes from a woman called Thyra Karlsson (19122001) from Alanäs. She is one of the major figures in traditional singing in Jämtland and Sweden. Her dream was to make a record, so that the songs she sang could be passed on to future generations. It didnt come true till many years later. Thyras daughter has put out a CD of recordings from the archives, and now Triakel present their favourite songs in their album Thyra. Its a personal selection out of the hundreds of traditional songs collected from her singing by the Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research in Stockholm. They include A Country Girls
