Ghost Hunters (1953)
Brighton, East Sussex. M, S at night shows a torch light shining onto garden gate showing name of house Alpesbury. We then see various shots of four men setting up equipment inside this reputedly haunted house to check if there is really a ghost around, or a human prankster. Former Brighton policeman and exsoldier Ted Henty seals the windows of the house with tape. Dowser Bruce Copen uses a ball on a string radiomagnetic detector pendulum and a divining rod to find out about any ghosts present. Luis Haestier, wireless and electrical engineer sets up a radar system. Henty checks around the fireplace, where caretakers of the house said the disturbances occurred. He puts cotton thread across the fireplace and strings ornaments together, then sets up a microphone that will amplify any sound if threads snap or ornaments break. The lights are turned out. The men make their way upstairs. In one of the rooms we see a shadowy shot of a deer head mounted on the wall. Dudley GambleJones sits
