The 9String is strung up to where the 3 treble strings are similar to how you would tune a 12string, but the bass strings are similar to a 6string. This gives you the fullness and chorus effect on the high strings, while getting the pronounced bass attack and ease of picking on the bass strings. I cant put this thing down Ive always loved the 12string
