Sculpting the Snake Goddess Repousse in Brass

, blacksmith, blacksmithing, sculpture In this video, I make the central figure of a relief sculpture in a brass sheet. This is part of a panel that is part of a larger project of which I am not revealing at this point. The repousse process involves annealing (softening) the metal then dishing out a bulge. This bulge is then filled with a pitch backer and the female figure is sculpted from the front surface using various hammered punches and chisels. Become a Patron: C
