Carmilla (1989)

After the ravishing Carmilla (Meg Tilly) arrives at a secluded Southern mansion, she soon has Marie (Ione Skye), the young plantation owner s daughter, under her mysterious spell. Then, when a series of grisly murders reveals the beautiful stranger as a bloodthirsty vampire, Marie s father and a local official enter into a desperate battle against the nightmarish power of the undead. Produced for the shortlived TV series Nightmare Classics, this loose adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu s novel of the same name costars Roy Dotrice and Roddy McDowall (the latter in his last vampire film, hot on the heels of Fright Night Part 2 ). Issued on VHS and laserdisc, the film has been unavailable for decades. No infringement intended.
