Tunnel Visions: Dragonfly Team Tests Rotorcraft Designs in Unique NASA Facilities
Well before NASAs Dragonfly rotorcraft lander soars through Titans skies, researchers at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland, are making sure their designs and models for the nuclearpowered, carsized drone will work in a truly unique environment. Three times in the past three years, the mission team has tested its flight systems in oneofakind wind tunnel facilities at NASAs Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia.
