Underoath Define the Great Line, Recorded Entirely on an 8 Track ( Pioneer H R99)
So I had the bright (or dumb like all my friends said) idea of taking new albums and recording them to the obsolete 8track format. Since new albums are coming out nowadays more and more on vinyl and even in cassette form, I thought I d take it a step further and record the albums to 8track, maybe I ll start a doubtful. After 6 months of searching for a working recorder, I finally found a fully restored Pioneer HR99 8track recorder, which works extremely well. I decided to start off by recording Underoath s entire album Define The Great Line on an 8track, which turned out great The sound during the ambient parts such as Casting Such a Thin Shadow and To Whom It May Concern (tracks, 7 , 11) sounds so ancient, it s amazing I plan on creating a decal label of the actual album art and putting it on the 8track to make it look legit.
