Vladimir Slapeta Bohuslav Fuchs architect from Brno
Vladimir Slapeta was born in 1947 in the family of architect Lubomir Slapeta, a student of Hans Scharoun. After graduating from architectural studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1972, he started working as an architect in Ostrava. In the years 19731991 he was the head of the architecture department of the National Technical Museum in Prague. In the years 19911997 he was the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague, and then, until 2000, the vicechancellor of the same. In the years 20062010 he was the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology. In 2021, the Association of Polish Architects (SARP) awarded the professor with the Bene Merentibus medal, which is awarded to people of particular merit for the broadly understood Polish architecture.
