Pin Ups Radio Show 1973
A short, 13 minute radio show that finds David Bowie playing DJ and commentator to promote his 1973 covers album Pin Ups. Produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, the show was intended for distribution to radio stations, but mysteriously sat in the can for well over 40 years, until it was unearthed by Nigel Reeve, who oversees Bowies back catalogue. . I discovered it during some research several years ago. It was in an old tape vault on 1, 4 tape with simply the words Radio Show written on it. No one knew of its existence, Reeve recounted. It was given to BBC Radio 6 in 2013 for broadcast, and features Bowie spinning tracks from Pin Ups, along with his own chatter and recollections of the times.
