This is the second part of our interview with His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum, the Executive Chairman of Shuaa, known for buying big in the emirate s bonds just after the financial crisis in the hope of lessening the negative effect on the UAE. More than three years on, the country is now enjoying its status as a safe haven from the Arab Spring, and its logistics, trade and tourism businesses are booming. It s this reason that a spate of massive new projects have recently been announced but with close to 50 worth of debt due to mature before 2016 in Dubai alone, careful financing planning is still needed.
