Gong Culture of Southeast Asia Ethnic Group: CoHo Date: 21 May 2017 Type: Flat Gongs, Ching Numbers: 6 Location: Lang Biang, Lac Duong town, Lam Dong province, Vietnam CơHo people, MonKhmer language group, live in southern part of the central highlands of Vietnam, such as Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa. CoHo have a strong relationship with MalayoPolynesian language group such as Ede, Raglai, Gia Rai(Jarai) and Chu Ru. Traditionally, the CoHo people lived in longhouse (some are 2030m long and 35m wide with the wooden floor) but today, they prefer small houses. In the family tradition, if a wife dies, a younger sister could be replaced as a second wife with the husband. CoHo believe in animism and especially, they believe in Ndu, a deity of the world, who takes care of human. under the Ndu, they have divided two supernatural spirits in their lives.
